The Association of Women Contractors (AWC) was established in 1995 to provide a unified voice for women business owners in the construction industry. The Association of Women Contractors is an organization committed to assisting women-owned companies in the construction industry to become an active voice in the Minnesota business community. The organization promotes contract opportunities, monitors legislative issues that impact the industry, and provides a forum for women contractors to network with each other. An emphasis is placed on enhancing the growth and development of the construction industry while providing women business owners with education and professional resources.
Community Based Organization (CBO) CBO membership shall be comprised of organizations or entities, managed as not for profit, and primarily funded by the general public and not a government agency. The CBO has an interest in the construction industry and in furthering the principles of the Association. The CBO member shall have no voting privileges unless elected to hold a Member-at-Large position on the Board of Directors. The CBO member shall designate one (1) individual in a policy making-executive position to represent them in the Association.
